Thank you for visiting turbosloth dot com. As always, this site is continually evolving. THANKS AND PRAISES to everyone who came and saw us Saturday night, 4/26/08, at a certain party in the woods of Madbury, NH! Also thanks to the inhabitants for an excellent venue. This was one of the best live performances, if not THE single best, that the Sloth has done over the years. We had a great time and a good night was had by all. We got some video footage which I will put up on the MySpace when I get a chance to dust it off. Thanks everybody! We're starting to get some recorded material together. There are no "official" recordings yet, though the Sloth has put in some studio time recently. There's a few bootlegs at large, including one rowdy show partially recorded on cassette at Dos Amigos in Dover. Let me tell you, those Dos Amigos shows were buck wild, I mean, not quite as good as the Madbury show we just played, but still, we ascended to the pinnacle of our typical Slothhood and for some reason, as usual, everyone was diggin it. The place sold like $1000 worth of burritos in like two hours. Anyway, I think Bob Weaver has a copy of one of these shows. If you have bootlegs, give them to us somehow (mail them, upload them, tie them to a chicken and fling them at our heads) and I'll toss them up on the site someplace. I have learned a painful lesson: it is damn near impossible to have a demanding career and a Turbo Sloth at the same time. On the positive side, this fact tells you how much TLC goes into Turbo Sloth, which surprises the shit out of a lot of people since we sound like an underwater jam session between Hasil Adkins, GG Allin's backup band, and James Williamson. But hey, that's how we roll. In keeping with the spirit of Turbo Sloth, we religiously practice at least once every two years, and we rage it harder than the Mohs scale (unless I'm too tired from work... crap I'm gettin old). I'm revamping the Turbo Sloth myspace page, I never check it and people are probably wondering what's up. If you'd like to go check it out, feel free. It isn't particularly good, but that's myspace for ya. I'll be working on it trying to make it into an actual band MySpace, since that's how a lot of our fans keep in touch with each other. Guess I didn't realize that before, so the myspace was kind of a joke. Anyways, I'm on the case. I also want to publish some artwork done by the band - which is probably going to be mostly Eliot, since he's a badass in that department. Eliot, if you are reading this, give me a call, or I'll call you, or something. We'll figure stuff out. I want to put some games on here, or maybe give people free email accounts or something. We'll see what happens, but seriously, how awesome would it be to say "hey, email me, I'm wickedcoolguy420@turbosloth.com"? Yeah, you're right it'd be pretty fuckin awesome. Anyway, this is the site, it's very much under construction, check back if you're so inclined. |
In case you are interested, here's some authentic Portland Maine punk rock that still survives. I wouldn't mind sharing the stage with these guys one day. |
